Isle of Fair and the Orkney’s

Hoy of Orkney's

This post comes from a tiny fishing harbour of Kinlochbervie, at Mainland Scotland. Outer Hebrides will have to wait for better winds. The Orkney’s we had to leave behind way too early, also because of winds. A day with easterlies could not be wasted for island hopping and sightseeing in this country of  nearly constant South West. We rounded Cape Wrath, North West tip of Scotland, instead, and in the delirium after an overnight passage, landed here, in Kinlochbervie.

The passage got my day and night rythm all confuced. It's rainy and misty ourside, there is surprisingly enough mobile coverage in this desolated rock crack for putting out some pics from the sunny days we have had. Funny, but somehow the days with fog and rain dont get documented : ).

Local wild life doesnt appreciate Philipp as much as he appreciates the wild life. Under a Ponxie (Great Skua) attack on Fair Island
Puffins, nesting in rabbit holes, were else?

Cliffs and stacks and sheep on top
Harbour of Fair Island, We were lucky to experience one of the few sunny days they have on this foggy island half ways between Shetland and Orkneys.

We are at Orkney's

..at the red dot in the map you hopefully can see. We have really bad coverage on our cheapest-possible-pre-pay-internet, so photos from the islands here must wait. When the winds allow (might be tonight, plan is to cross over to the Outer Hibraids. These are islands wer know nothing about, and actually didnt even know existed until two days ago.

All well with us!
